6 long years since the last show in the parking lot. Kill Your Idols means more to me than any other band out there. I am the happiest person in the world to know that in 2 months I get to see this band again. So many good memories are attached to this band, many friendships built off the mutual love for KYI. I look forward to singing along to the words that mean so much to me and sharing that with the people I once shared it with. </div>

Well, here we have an under appreciated Revelation record. By a Thread's the last of the daydreams. This is on white vinyl limited to 226. There are no other colors for this record, or presses. Just 226 on white. Pretty limited and im not sure why Rev did that but who cares. I saw this on the back wall at generation and asked the guy to pull it down for me. First he thought i said "minor threat" when i said "by a thread". Then of course the lp was all the way in the back and up high behind the cd stacks so he had to get a ladder. No worries though he didnt fall. And i got this great emo lp. </div>

I really suck at buying records sometimes. I had definitely seen verse and they had this at the merch table and like a moron I didnt buy it. Of course this was before i really bought vinyl, but still. Anyway, years later now i have a First press of Rebuild on gold out of 823. Rivalry did a great job with this, particularly the vinyl, its not some flimsy garbage but nice and heavy. </div>

Another record that took me too long to own. I never actually got to see Righteous Jams, but i've listened to them enough where I had no reason not to own this LP. At least now i own it. Second press on Gold vinyl out of 1000 on lockin out Records. I usually like to own first press's but at this point i just didnt care what pressing it was, I just had to have it. </div>

Here's the back cover on the left and one side of the insert on the right. Look how ripped Joey C was. When i saw the Invasion reunion at few years ago he was skinny and not ripped. Thats what moving to brooklyn and trying to become a model/hipster will do to you. I wonder if he could even do the 100 pushups that he talked about in that town of hardcore interview anymore. </div>

Ah Tegan and Sara! Something different now and again is a good thing and T&S embodies that fully. Ive been into them for a while now and pretty much love all of their back catalog. But i didnt find myself getting that exited for this LP's release. Maybe because the new single Closer annoys me. This record isnt bad by any means, But they are definitly going for more of a dancy/electronica/whatever feel. Its a bit of a step in a different direction for T&S. It still has the indie elements that they do so well, but its not what they were. I guess we cant expect everything to stay the same forever. </div>

So my interest in this band came purely from reading about them on other blogs. I was so excited to hear them and i found a 2nd press of the next door on ebay for ten bucks and grabbed it. After spinning it i found i wasnt really impressed but maybe its one of those records i need to listen to a bunch before i like it. Weird this about this record is that someone wrote their social security number on the vinyl label(i covered part of it). What in the world would possess someone to put that number on anything that they werent going to keep? People are dumb. </div>

Easily one of the most anticipated LP's of the year and Rival Mob's debut record on REVELATION mob justice! From start to finish this album is awesome. I really didnt pay attention to the mob after Raw Life came out. Hardcore for Hardcore kinda bored me but this record has brought me back around. Whatever colors this is i know its limited to 400 and apparently already goin on ebay for 40ish bucks. Guess i'm lucky to have grabbed it in the preorder. Rev did a great job with this record. The sleeve is just a little bit wider making it super easy to slide the record in and out of it. Im not sure if other people get frustrated when you cant get the damn lp back in the sleeve but i do. And that doesnt happen with this record. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So i developed a new system for adding records to this blog. Now when I
get them I take the picture on my phone right from the blogger app, then
I save the post for when I actually feel like writing it. This saves
me from having to keep records organized into records that need pictures
taken of them for the blog, records that i have pictures of and just
need to upload the picture from photobucket to blogger, and new records.
Unfortunately this has led me to have a huge backlog of saved posts of
just pictures of records. </div>

Hollow Earth's We are not Humanity came out like mid 2012 i think. I got it in the fall, spun it a bunch and thought it ruled. Totally that 90''s hardcore style that i love. I think the current singer for shai hulud sings for this band and this band is easily better than current shai hulud. They were really making some people take notice right when the lp dropped, they even played NYC a few times(both i bitched out on), but since then I havent really heard anything from them. Hopefully they tour again but who knows. Regardless, this record is awesome. I grabbed this from Generation months after it came out and somehow they had the blood red version which is limited to 75. Sick</div>

Yo so Naked Aggression is a punk band I used to listen to in highschool. I thought they were fucking sick but haven't listened to them at all since highschool. Fast forward 8 years later and im in academy records and i stumble upon the Gut Wringing Machine lp. I immediately get excited because of nostalgia and the fact that i had no idea it was on vinyl. This was a no brainer for me and i purchased it instantly, not even worrying about whether or not i would even still like the band/record. Well, I listened to it and the record has aged well and it is still a killer punk record. </div>

Chris hanna never looks happy in any picture he is in. And i dont think that its like he's posing to be all hard and shit. I just think he is legitamately angry at everything. Hence leading to very mad and very sarcastic lyrics, as such has been the theme of Propagandhi. Failed states is their newest lp and while its not my favorite propagandhi lp yet, its fucking killer. Im an idiot and they played the city back in October and I bitched out and didnt go. Well, that made me miss out on Capital also playing(which i had no idea was happening) and John Joseph coming on stage and signing a Cro-Mags cover w/ Propagandhi. I must stop bitching out on shows. </div>

At first i fucking hated this band. Fucking Xibalba what the fuck kind of name is that? But then I heard the song "Cold" and that opinion changed. Holy shit that song is heavy as fuck as well as the rest of Hasta la Muerte. This came out on Southern Lord records last year, black double lp limited to 1000(not that limited). The label did a great job with the packaging, the gate fold and the heavy duty lps. I love how they included black dust sleeves, kept the dark theme of the record going throughtout. Oh and did i mention that this record is heavy as fuck? Oh yea i did. </div>

Yo I love 90s hardcore. Culture fully embodies 90's hardcore. So i love culture. They just recently played down in Miami for some minifest or something. To Coincide with that show ghetto josh records put out this lp of demos and shit. There's 2 different covers, this one which is the screenprinted smokestack cover and another with like starving children on it. Both are limited to 150 and this one is #80. </div>

I never really paid much attention to Die Young when they were active. I dont know why as they have all the things that i love: the 90s hardcore sound, straightedge and vegan. After spinning this a bunch i have to say that its fucking awesome. So heavy and so angry and just makes you want to move. As best as i can understand, This is die young's last lp. This has a ill screenprinted cover and on gold is limited to 100. But whats really sick is the booklet. Its got stories from all the band members, a complete show listing and full pressing info! After checking out the show listing, I found out they only played my area once, no wonder i never got into them. </div>

So I only recently got into Crowbar. I have to say this might be the heaviest record ive ever heard. Devastating. I was recently browsing the internet and stumbled upon a link to order this record. Apparently it had never been pressed onto vinyl til now. So of course being able to grab a copy was exciting and i went for. Out of 100 on Swamp Green </div>

Im gonna flat out say it, I love everything Walter Schriefels creates. The man cannot make bad music, end of story. For whatever reason i didnt preorder rival shools "pedals" when it was coming out. This led me to not buying for a long ass time after it was released. I had even seen rival school post release and still didnt buy it. I think the fact that the damn thing cost like $30 is what stopped me. But on a recent trip to generation i was feeling ignorant about spending money so here it is. Rival Schools on 180 gram awesomeness. Now i just need to get the United By Fate LP when im feeling ignorant enough to drop $60. </div>

Out of the Ashes of Renee Heartfelt came Memorial. Equally awesome as the former. I missed the boat on both bands of course and I never get to see them play live now. I ordered this LP along w/ the Basement Preorder from Run For cover. Not as good as The Creative Process/Berlin but it is still really friggin good. </div>

Im sure there are a ton of title fight posts on the blog sphere about this record. I dont know what it is but this band literally blew the fuck up. I had ignored them for a long time after kingston came out. I dont know what it was but i kinda just wrote them off. Talking to my friend Keith at a Blue Scholars show a month back he explained to me that the band really matured and that i would probably like them now. I always trust his reccomendations so i downloaded Floral Green and yep, i like it. I Knew i was too late to get a copy on color vinyl, so i settled for the regular black press which i purchased from Generation. </div>

Pretty cool, this LP has a heavy dude sleeve that slides up to reveal a gatefold lp with lyrics printed on the inside. One of the more creative packagings i've seen. </div>

Fights at hardcore shows are inevitable, Everyone is already angry, just one thing can set it off, pun intended. One of the bigger fights ive seen was actually at a title fight show out east. This was before anything was out besides Kingston. Title Fight was on and it was a very small bar that did not allow any kind of crowd climbing. Being the connection TF has with LI, everyone was going nuts and of course climbing. I believe one of the security guards grabbed someone in dog pound by the neck and tried to pull him out the side door. This led to a ton of people fighting with the security guards. Someone threw one of those plastic outdoor chairs at the guard and there were definlitly people crowd climbing to get to the fight. Unfortnatley that ended the show and Cold World did not get to play. </div>

So a few weeks ago I decided that my indecision collection is not complete without the MPB recordings with tom singing. This means i need the demo and all variations of Nothing in Vain. I set off to begin. I found a copy of nothing in vain on white/black/grey splatter on ebay and bought it. The seller was from europe so i had to pay like 10 bucks in shipping. A week or two later I was in Academy records in brook and low and behold, there was a copy of the same record, for the same amount i had won it on ebay. I subsequently bought that too, knowing full well I had one coming in the mail already. I dont know what possessed me to buy a 2nd copy, ive spent a lot of money on records but this was clearly the most pointless purchase ive done. Regardless, Nothing in Vain rips. </div>

Verse is fucking awesome. Always have been. In recent years people kinda wrote them off, what with half the band breaking edge and them breaking up then reforming. Whatever, i could give a shit. They still make great music with smart lyrics. This is the demo, where it all started. The recording is noticeably shitty, but fuck it i was bedroom moshing to nothing more and let it all rust when i spun it. Nothing standout about the packaging to not. However, The label did include something that i think should be mandatory for all labels. See that white paper at the top? Yea thats the pressing info. Per that this record is limited to 383 copies. </div>

So I only just recently discovered Errortype:11. Fuck, I had been really missing out on this band. Its like a mix of Quicksand and Mind Over Matter! I heard one song somewhere and I was hooked. Unfortunately its very difficult to find most of their stuff to download online, and even harder to find vinyl of it. I did find this 10" on ebay and got it for like 10 bucks. Apparently I could have gotten it from REV brand new, but whatever. Im happy to have it. I am openly collecting this band now so anyone who can help please comment! </div>

I am sad that i have never seen the Hope Conspiracy. All their records are fucking awesome and I can only image how awesome they must be live. This is their most recent record thats not really all that recent anymore. Perfect mid-2000's hardcore when it wasn't just about moshing hard but it was about emotion too. I think i read something about them making a new record or touring soon, but I cant remember exactly. But i do know i need to pick up all their prior material on vinyl. </div>

I love the souls. I have had some great times of my life that I can attribute to this band. I had taken a picture of the front cover of this lp, but it didnt upload correctly and im too fucking lazy right now to retake it. This is inside the gatefold and its fucking awesome. Overall this lp is pretty good, but it has to have THE WORST song the souls have ever written on it, called "we love fun". Seriously? The lyrics are so fucking dumb and the song is just too corny and obvious. I mean you guys are the fucking bouncing souls, we know you love fun. No need to hurt my ears with a lame ass song about it. goddamn. </div>

Whoa I almost missed it. 10 years ago this month I made my ebay account. So much money spent because of this account. I'm afraid to think how much. I still remember my 1st purchase on ebay....Anti-Flag's "Die for the Goverment' on CD! Haha. Funny how times change. Anyway, 324 positive feedback and counting!Danhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16468890995795179141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1935961535414813677.post-44254333777221104152013-01-20T20:16:00.002-05:002013-01-20T20:16:42.799-05:00War All The Time <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Thursday is one of the first 2 bands that I first started listening to when i got into "alternative" music. It was them and Taking Back Sunday that opened the doors for me. Ill never forget the first Thursday show i went to, as it was my first real show ever and TBS also played. It was in january 2002 at the Sahara (rip) in Syosset on Long Island. The whole show was such a blur but I remember it being amazing and I was immediately hooked. Anyway, I've followed thursday's material and pretty much loved everything. I slept on buying a copy of War all the Time when it came on out Vinyl, but a recent trip to hot topic in november(not that recent i guess) led me to buy the Hot Topic exclusive color of it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
RIP Thursday. </div>

This fucking record took me so long to get its stupid. I've seen LLT a couple times, once when all they had out was Destined for Anything and then maybe 2 more times after Runaways came out. I dunno why but i was never that into them, I had the cd of this record and i had the LP of runaways but i never game them much attention. Well a few years after they broke up I revisted DFA and i fell in love with it. Its so hard but yet so emotional at the same time. The first song has me moshing in my room every time. After the revistitation i decided i needed the LP. This proved difficult as no one had it on their HYE lists and it wasnt popping up on ebay. Finally after maybe a year or so It finally popped up and i forgot to fucking bid! Then a few months later this one popped up. I wasnt missing it so i set a bid and waited. The seller only posted a picture of the cover with no pic of the lp and no color description. So it ended pretty low and I won it. Super happy. </div>
