Verse

Verse is fucking awesome. Always have been. In recent years people kinda wrote them off, what with half the band breaking edge and them breaking up then reforming. Whatever, i could give a shit. They still make great music with smart lyrics.  This is the demo, where it all started.  The recording is noticeably shitty, but fuck it i was bedroom moshing to nothing more and let it all rust when i spun it. Nothing standout about the packaging to not. However, The label did include something that i think should be mandatory for all labels. See that white paper at the top? Yea thats the pressing info.  Per that this record is limited to 383 copies.

Sup bro?

So I only just recently discovered Errortype:11.  Fuck, I had been really missing out on this band. Its like a mix of Quicksand and Mind Over Matter! I heard one song somewhere and I was hooked.  Unfortunately its very difficult to find most of their stuff to download online, and even harder to find vinyl of it.  I did find this 10" on ebay and got it for like 10 bucks. Apparently I could have gotten it from REV brand new, but whatever. Im happy to have it.  I am openly collecting this band now so anyone who can help please comment!

Hope Con

I am sad that i have never seen the Hope Conspiracy.  All their records are fucking awesome and I can only image how awesome they must be live. This is their most recent record thats not really all that recent anymore. Perfect mid-2000's hardcore when it wasn't just about moshing hard but it was about emotion too.  I think i read something about them making a new record or touring soon, but I cant remember exactly. But i do know i need to pick up all their prior material on vinyl.

Bouncing Souls

Yo this is the new Bouncing Souls record called comet. I love the souls. I have had some great times of my life that I can attribute to this band.  I had taken a picture of the front cover of this lp, but it didnt upload correctly and im too fucking lazy right now to retake it. This is inside the gatefold and its fucking awesome.  Overall this lp is pretty good, but it has to have THE WORST song the souls have ever written on it, called "we love fun".  Seriously? The lyrics are so fucking dumb and the song is just too corny and obvious.  I mean you guys are the fucking bouncing souls, we know you love fun. No need to hurt my ears with a lame ass song about it. goddamn.

Happy 10 Years!

Whoa I almost missed it. 10 years ago this month I made my ebay account.  So much money spent because of this account. I'm afraid to think how much. I still remember my 1st purchase on ebay....Anti-Flag's "Die for the Goverment' on CD! Haha. Funny how times change. Anyway, 324 positive feedback and counting!

War All The Time

Thursday is one of the first 2 bands that I first started listening to when i got into "alternative" music. It was them and Taking Back Sunday that opened the doors for me.  Ill never forget the first Thursday show i went to, as it was my first real show ever and TBS also played. It was in january 2002 at the Sahara (rip) in Syosset on Long Island.  The whole show was such a blur but I remember it being amazing and I was immediately hooked.  Anyway, I've followed thursday's material and pretty much loved everything.  I slept on buying a copy of War all the Time when it came on out Vinyl, but a recent trip to hot topic in november(not that recent i guess) led me to buy the Hot Topic exclusive color of it.
RIP Thursday.

Destined for anything!

This fucking record took me so long to get its stupid.  I've seen LLT a couple times, once when all they had out was Destined for Anything and then maybe 2 more times after Runaways came out.  I dunno why but i was never that into them, I had the cd of this record and i had the LP of runaways but i never game them much attention.  Well a few years after they broke up I revisted DFA and i fell in love with it.  Its so hard but yet so emotional at the same time.  The first song has me moshing in my room every time.  After the revistitation i decided i needed the LP.  This proved difficult as no one had it on their HYE lists and it wasnt popping up on ebay.  Finally after maybe a year or so It finally popped up and i forgot to fucking bid! Then a few months later this one popped up. I wasnt missing it so i set a bid and waited.  The seller only posted a picture of the cover with no pic of the lp and no color description.  So it ended pretty low and I won it.  Super happy.

ENOUGH

I think i first heard about this band on the B9 board. Someone had posted a link to their demo or something of that nature and I checked it out.  I dont remember my feelings on it at the time, and promptly forgot about the band.  Moving along I kept reading about them in Mike's blog and how awesome they were.  Well after he posted about them a third time i finally decided to check them out and i ordered the LP from Rev. I definitly fucked up by not getting this lp sooner.  Its fucking awesome straightedge hardcore.  They arent really doing anything different, but they are just doing it so well.  I can see myself spinning this one for a while.

Basement*

I have no idea how i got into basement. I honestly dont remeber what it was that made me check out this band. I didnt even listen to them til right about when this LP came out.  Which after hearing i Immediatley ordered from Run For Cover.  And of course wouldn't you know it, they were breaking up with the release of this record.   The worst part is they've played long island a few times and ive either not gone or not watched them.  Sucks because i absolutely love this record. It comes with a huge ass poster too.  But since i dont really put posters up its staying in the lp sleeve. Mustard of 500

RATM XX

Goddamn i cant remember the last time i bought a record/cd that had a parental advisory sticker on it.  I used to think i was such a badass when i was in middle school and i bought a cd with one on it. Now that never happens.  Whats the special occasion for this sticker? Well its the Rage Against the Machine 20th anniversary issue of the s/t LP.  See the burning monk? YUP. Gotta love rage.  This is a band that i definitely ignored for many years, I'm working on fixing that right now.

First record of 2013!

So i wanted to take a break from catching up from my 2012 pickups to introduce the 1st record i got in 2013.  This is both the first record i purchased in 2013 and the first record to come in the mail.

This is a Compilation that came out sometime in the mid 2000's.  Its got Holding on, Close call, My luck,  Die hard youth and What feeds the fire on it.  But the main/only reason I'm interested in this record is because Kill Your Idols is on it. Therefore, I must collect it. I've only got like 2 other colors of this besides the test now, and i believe there are four colors total.  Ive never put much effort into completing this one, but maybe I should since now i have a test press. Pressing info on this is unknown.

MLIW mess up

Last month Joe at Lifeline records made a store where he was just selling OOP and limited Lifeline stuff. I got super excited since i had been trying to pick up some modern life is war stuff and i saw a great opportunity.  Im not trying to collect the band by any means, but i just wanted to get my hands on 1st press copies of all their materials.  Its kinda silly that i didnt have that stuff since I got to see MLIW plenty of times while they were around and had the 1st pressings with them.  Anyway i went to buy a copy of My Love My Way on clear, and i guess at somepoint i either misread or clicked the wrong link, because when i got the record, I had my 2nd copy of Witness. Im not that bummed by it, since this is still limited to 150 and the blue witness i already had was limited to 1000.  Still need to get MLMW though!

Chain

So i feel like this is going to be a really obligatory blog post. But whatever. Everyone has been picking up the represses of the one thing that still holds true. The more i kept reading them the more it made me want to pick it up. I was never really that into chain but i figured what the hell.  So i saw it in generation last month and went for it.  Turns out i really like chain and have been spinning this multiple time a week since i got it. I think clear is the 4th press. Not really sure though.

New lows

I first saw new lows just after they put out the demo. They were on a tour with downhill fast. I caught the tour at a bar called Rembrandts 5 minutes from my house. There were maybe 15 people at that show. I actually ended up liking downhill fast more at the time. Since then they have dropped off the face of the world. But new lows still remain, and are one of the heaviest bands out. I've been meaning to pick up harvest of the carcass for a while and finally did at generation last month.  Killer lp. Can't wait to see them in May on long island.
